Marketing Toolkit

Attracting and maintaining new clients has become vital due to increasing economic and competitive pressures in the legal market. Therefore, developing comprehensive marketing plans and measuring the success of these activities is essential to growth-oriented firms. The SQL*Partner Marketing Module addresses the automation of marketing management and provides authorized members of the Firm quick and accurate information regarding pending and current clients and related marketing activities.

It is described as a "toolkit" because it permits firms to create their own fields of information to track, and it is fully integrated with all other modules for tracking time, scheduling events, etc. Features of the Marketing Toolkit include:

User-Defined Data Fields

The Marketing Toolkit permits the firm to create and maintain an unlimited number of user defined fields that may associated at one or more levels (i.e. client, matter, timekeeper, etc.) The user may define the field labels that appear on the screens, as well as the type of data to be input into the fields. Data types include:

  • Text Only
  • Text and Numbers
  • Numbers Only (Positive, Negative, Decimal, etc.)
  • Dates (Validated on System Calendar)
  • Standard Tables (Tables included with system, such as Timekeeper, Department, SIC, etc.)
  • User-Defined Tables (Tables created and maintained by the Firm)

The user defined fields may be used individually, or they may be grouped into firm defined groupings for ease of entry and for security. Each field or field group may be assigned the following security levels by user or firm defined groups of users:

  • Add
  • Modify
  • Display
  • Delete

Integrated Client/Matter Intake

The Firm may design its own data entry screens to input new clients or matters for the Time & Billing Module, or as entities for marketing purposes. A standard input screen template is provided with the system, or the firm may use third party SQL tools to create its own screens. By using third party products that support workflow features, the firm could implement workflow rules to process client/matter intake and marketing electronically.

Integration with Conflict of Interest

Clients and/or matters that are input for marketing purposes are automatically included in the conflicts search base so that subsequent potential client/matter combinations may be detected in the marketing process in addition to within Time & Billing.

Event Scheduling and Tracking

All of the features available in the Calender/Docket Module are available for entities input for marketing purposes, so you the Firm may schedule and track marketing related activities. This information could be combined with other financial information from Time & Billing (after clients & matters are accepted into the billing system) for reporting the effectiveness of the marketing effort.

SQL Report Writer

All information input and tracked in marketing, as well as all other modules, is available through the supplied data dictionary to third party SQL tools. This permits the Firm to create its own queries and reports for marketing purposes.
